Merrill Douglas Ring

Merrill Douglas Ring, 60, Chicago, died on March 10, 2011 in Chicago. Douglas was born on February 19, 1951 in Galesburg, the son of Merrill and Pauline Ring.  He is survived by two brothers, Rick (and Pamela) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and John (and Theresa) of Galesburg.  Also surviving are three nieces Kelli, Kristen, and Emma.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Douglas graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969.  He had attended Eureka College and Los Angeles City College.  Douglas was a writer and a playwright; he had lived in Chicago the past 15 years.  He also was a volunteer for hospice. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on April 9, 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Cremation rights have been accorded.   Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.  Visit www.watsonfh.net to view obituary and send condolences.
