Mildred Imogene Starkey, 97, of Hendersonville, TN went to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of Friday, November 3, 2017. Imogene spent the first half of her amazing life in the Monmouth, IL area before moving with family to Middle Tennessee. She was an active member of the Good Shephard United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville, TN and several community groups throughout the city. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Starkey of Monmouth, IL; her brothers, Russell Dycus and Gerald Dycus both of Chicago, IL; nephew, Martin Dycus of Monmouth, IL; son-in-laws, Anthony Gibbs and Charles J. Tatman both of Hendersonville, TN and Hilmi Adas of Chicago, IL; and grandson, Shawn Grover of Carbondale, IL. She is survived by her daughters, Rella Adas of Chicago, IL, Diane (Fred) Roberts of Franklin, IL, Janice Gibbs Tatman and Joyce (Robert) Winters both of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Leonard Grover and Rebecca (Michael) Donahue both of Chicago, IL, Michael (Cindy) Roberts of Baltimore, MD, Lisa (Michael MacDonald) Roberts of Los Angeles, CA, Derek Bennett of Franklin, IL, Jennifer (Doug) Koch of De Pere, WI, Stefanie (Craig) Young of Shorewood, IL, Amy (Eric) Tapscott-Dishman of Hendersonville, TN, Travis (LeAnn Huffstedtler) Bennett of Waverly, IL, Kate (Adam) Walker and Ellen (Robert) Fennel both of Hendersonville, TN, Brandon (Tonya) Gibbs of Gallatin, TN and Julie (Brandon) Pikert of Franklin, IL; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter on the way. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Good Shephard United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, TN. Family and friends will begin gathering at 1:00 p.m. with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Imogene Starkey. Memorial donations will also be accepted at the Celebration of Life.
