Nadine K. Mowen

Nadine K. Mowen, age 54, of Stronghurst, Illinois; passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, on March 18th at 9:10 am. She was born August 26, 1956 in LaHarpe, Illinois and is the daughter of Robert E. and Pauline B. Johnson Talbott. She was raised in LaHarpe where she attended public schools and graduated from the LaHarpe High School. She then completed the course of a medical assistant from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. She was previously married to Dale Mowen. Nadine was employed thirty years for Dr.S.C.Lindo in Biggsville and until his retirement. She then worked for the Henderson County Rural Health Care Center until 2008, when she retired. Since retirement Nadine has been a proof reader at the The Quill Newspaper in Hancock and Henderson counties. Nadine was active in her church and has taught Sunday School. She loved doing crosswords, baking, and especially dominoes. Her family and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Surviving is one daughter Emily Schaley (Brendan) and one son Bradley Mowen (Shelby)both of Stronghurst. Four grandchildren surviving Jenna, Megan, Jacob, and Mason. She has one sister Peggy Edwards (Dave) of Carman, Illinois; and one brother Larry (Sherry) Talbott of Blandinsville, Illinois. Three Nephews and one niece are surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Melvin and Robert Jr. Services:A funeral service will be on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at the Stronghurst United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Biggsville Township Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville, IL on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm A memorial fund is being established for Western Illinois Kidney Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
