Nancy L. Furnald

Nancy L. Furnald, age 50, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at her residence in Oquawka, on Friday March 12, 2010 at 3:25 am. Nancy was born July 31, 1960 in Orange, California and is the daughter of Richard L. and Joyce Thomas Kulp. Her early life was in Orange California until the age of 12 when they moved to Oquawka, where she attended local schools and Union High School. Nancy was previously married to Larry Lain. She later married Bruce G. Furnald on May 11, 1985 in Galesburg, Illinois. Nancy worked as a cook and as a waitress at numerous restaurants in the area. She more recently has been employed at CoBo International of Burlington, as an assembler. Nancy was known as one who would do anything for anyone. Her main interest was in her family, children, and grandchildren. She also loved to ride Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Surviving is her husband Bruce Furnald of Oquawka, Illinois. Two sons Michael (Heather) Lain of Oquawka, Illinois and Shawn (Tianna) Lain and their baby Lain also of Oquawka, Illinois. Three Grandsons survive Christopher, Lowrance, and Payton Lain. Two sisters Lydia (Jerry) Williamson of Oquawka, Illinois and Colleen (Charles) Pruett of Clinton, North Carolina. One brother survives Richard (Linda) Kulp also of Oquawka, Illinois. Also surviving are numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and a number of cousins. Preceding her in death are her grandparents, mother, one sister, and one nephew. Services:A funeral service will be on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, with interment to be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday March 15, also at Turnbull's in Oquawka. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
