Nancy R. Hendrickson

Nancy R. Hendrickson, age 80, of Biggsville, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Ia. She was born on April 14, 1930 in Burlington, the daughter of James L. and Gretchen Sieler Morris. Nancy was reared and educated in Burlington. After high school she attended Nursing College in Burlington, and graduated as an Registered Nurse. Nancy married Charles Walter Hendrickson on October 4, 1952 in Biggsville, Ill, he survives. Nancy worked at the Burlington Hospital and the Klein Center in Burlington as an RN. She was the Henderson County Nurse and school nurse, which she was instrumental in organizing. She finally worked at Monmouth Hospital until she retired in 1995. Nancy was an exceptional seamstress, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, a fabulous cook, and liked crafts. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Nancy is survived by her husband Charles W. Hendrickson of Stronghurst, Ill., Children; Charles W. Hendrickson, Jr., of Iowa City, Ia., Michael L. Hendrickson of Biggsville, Ill., Sue A. Hendrickson of Biggsville, Ill., and Robert G. Hendrickson of Biggsville, Ill. Also surviving are five grandsons, and four great grandchildren. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Biggsville United Methodist Church in Biggsville, Ill. Interment will be in the Biggsville Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00 pm. to 2:00 p.m. at the church where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established for the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst of the Great River Medical Center Hospice House.
