Nancy Jo Roseberry

Nancy Jo Roseberry, age 69, formerly of Kirkwood, IL; passed away in Englewood, California on January 26, 2013. Nancy Jo was born on January 4, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois and is the daughter of Robert W. and Helen Smith. She was raised in Kirkwood, Illinois where she attended local schools and Yorkwood High School in 1962. She then attended and graduated from Wheaton College in 1966. She then became employed as an English Teacher at Apollo High School in Burlington, Iowa. She met and married David Roseberry on November 21, 1970 and he preceded her in death on . Nancy and David settled in Louisville, Kentucky in 1978. She enjoyed a long career as an editor in Louisville until 2009 when she returned to Kirkwood, Illinois and resided in the family home. She enjoyed her retirement by traveling around the country and visiting her family with her adoring sidekick, Mr. Bojangles the pug, by her side. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica of Louisville, Kentucky; her son, Mark (Jing) Roseberry of Bethel, Connecticut; and their daughter, Vanessa; and her sister, Sue (Bill) Hawk of Monmouth, Illinois. Her nephews, Curt (Leisa) Coburn, David (Cindy) Coburn, and niece, Lisa (Bill) Larkins, also are surviving. Also her pug Mr.Bojangles is surviving. Services:A funeral service for family and friends is planned on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth at 10:30 am. Interment of her ashes will follow in Center Grove Cemetery. A local memorial fund has been established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue in Monmouth, Illinois.
