Nellie P. Harvey, age 99, of Geneseo, Illinois, formally of Monmouth, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Geneseo. Nellie was born on August 9, 1908, in Trimble, Missouri, she is the daughter of Hale Columbus and Lela Mae Evans Scalf. She was reared and educated in the Kirkwood area. Nellie first married Jesse James Larimer, she then married Dewey George Harvey on November 25, 1939. Nellie worked for a time at the Lake City Arsenal in Kansas City, Missouri, she also cleaned house for many people. Later she spent more time being a homemaker. She was a gifted seamstress, and enjoyed working in her garden, and loved flowers. She also enjoyed making and selling baked goods. Nellie is survived by two sons; George H. Harvey of Monmouth, Lloyd Harvey of Worthington, Ohio, one daughter, Haleen Riles of Aurora, Missouri, five granddaughters; Sheila Tedder of Oklahoma, Paula Larimer of Missouri, Sara Skow of Indiana, Sandi Larimer, and Kim Harvey. Five grandsons; Michael Larimer of Missouri, John Larimer of Missouri, Bill Larimer of Missouri, Matt Larimer, and David Harvey. Also surviving is one brother, Fred Scalf of Knoxville, Illinois, and numerous Great Grand and Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons; James Larimer, Bill Larimer, one daughter, Alice Mae Larimer, four brothers; Glen Scalf, Bill Scalf, Leroy Scalf, George Scalf, and two sisters; Estelee Saunders and Myrtle Sullivan. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Her family will receive friends from 9:30 till the time of service at 10:30 a.m.. Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood. A memorial fund is being established and will be designated at a later date
