Normalee Hroziencik, 94, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 10:40 a.m. at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.
Normalee was born March 18, 1932 in Galesburg, the daughter of Glenn and Lucille (Dennis) Boyer. Normalee graduated from Galesburg High School and went on to marry Robert L. “Rozie” Hroziencik on August 17, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2015.
Normalee is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Polite of Galesburg; one son, Randy (Deb) Hroziencik of Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hroziencik of Oneida, Illinois; and a brother, Jim (Carol) Boyer of Rio, Illinois. Normalee is also survived by her beloved 6 grandchildren, Kate (Mike) Hagedorn, Brandon (Katie) Polite, Kevin (Tara) Hroziencik, Kyle Polite, Chris (Nicole) Hroziencik, and Heather (Anthony) Mahnesmith; and 16 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Normalee was preceded in death by a son, Robert on May 5, 2026; a brother, Richard Boyer; a sister, Gloria Seifert; a niece, Susan Seifert; and a son-in-law, Frank Polite.
Normalee worked many years in retail. First at Belscott in Galesburg for 10 years until their closure and later at Wal-Mart. She also enjoyed working part-time at Klein’s and Bergner’s in Galesburg. In her free time Normalee enjoyed crafting and cooking. She and Robert enjoyed traveling throughout the US, Europe, Mexico, and numerous other countries. Most of all, she loved her family and dearly adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation will be accorded. Private family graveside services will be at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Her son, Rev. Randy Hroziencik will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
