Novalene M Kilgore

Novalene M. Kilgore, age 63, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 1:45 pm on July 13, 2011 at her residence. She was born on September 10, 1947 in Moberly, Missouri and is the daughter of Nova L. and Frances O. Dennis Peart. Novalene was raised in Salisbury, Missouri where she attended local schools and graduated from Salisbury High School in 1965. Novalene married Jerry L. Kilgore on October 9, 1965 in Salisbury, Missouri. She started work as a seamstress in Salisbury and Fayette, Missouri and Evansville, Indiana. Later she went into nursing at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri and then the Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield , Missouri. She also was certified as an EMT. She was a teacher, counselor, and mentor in several churches through Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois. She also was administrator in several Christian Schools in Missouri and Illinois. She was heavily involved with her husbands ministry for the past 25 years at the Solid Rock Church of Monmouth. Novalene was talented in home design and loved her flowers, lawn, and gardening. Novalene was very devoted to her family, her children and grandchildren who were the apple of her eye. Most recently Novalene assisted her husband in the family insurance business Kilgore Insurance. Surviving is her husband Jerry L. Kilgore, one daughter Valerie Stevens, and son Jason (Amanda) Kilgore, all of Monmouth. Granddaughter Isabella Kathlene Kilgore and grandsons Blake A, Dalton C., and Jason C. Kilgore, all of Monmouth, Illinois. Her sister survives Sharon K. Sparks of McLouth, Kansas and her aunt Mary Schieni in Salisbury, Missouri. Services:A visitation and funeral service is planned for Saturday at 11:00 am at the Warren County Museum in Monmouth, formerly the Solid Rock Church. Her family plans to receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 at the Museum. A memorial fund is being established by her family and will be designated at a later date. Turnbull Funeral home in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
