Oneda Jean Neff-Calloway

Oneda Jean Neff-Calloway, age 88, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 10:20 P.M. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Oaklane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. She was born on October 15, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Ben H. and Barbara Christner Neff. Oneda graduated from Wayland High School in 1947. On September 25, 1970, she married James D. Calloway and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1997. Oneda was previously married to Marvin Keith. Oneda worked at the Lubbock State School in Lubbock, Texas for five years, I.A.A.P. in Middletown, Iowa for five years, and at the Iowa Mental Health Institute of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for fifteen years. She very much enjoyed sewing and made clothing for her children and grandchildren. Oneda is survived by two sons; Michael W. (Judy) Keith of Oquawka, IL and Dwain W. (Chris) Keith of Knoxville, IA, two granddaughters, five grandsons, and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Peggy Ann Wagner, son Marvin A. Keith, and four sisters. As were Oneda's wishes, no services are planned. Cremation is being accorded.
