Patricia Kay Blue, age 68, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. On March 5, 1941, Kay was born in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Louise Rammage Helton. Kay was reared in Roseville, Ill. and attended Roseville Schools. She also completed her G.E.D. On April 29, 1967, she married Walter Blue in Galesburg, IL and he survives. For 22 years Kay was employed at Galesburg Mental Health Center in it's dietary department and also in property control until it's closing in 1986. She then was Dietary Manager at Hill Correction Center in Galesburg for eighteen years until retiring in 2002. Kay enjoyed bowling in both the Roseville and Monmouth Lanes and reading. She also enjoyed helping with and was a volunteer for the Warren County Special Olympics. Her primary interest was her family. Surviving Kay are her husband Walter Blue of Monmouth, two daughters Stacey (Randall) Meth of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Robin Cooper of Monmouth and one son Ed Cooper of Monmouth and a step son Rodney (Cindy) Blue and a step daughter Crista Blue, both of Galesburg. There are three grandchildren, Dustin (Morgan) Olinger, of San Diego, Calif., Justin (Mamye) Blue of Monmouth, and Shanea Meth of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and five great grandchildren, two sisters Jean (Jerry) Kindhart of Roseville, Ill. and Carol (Roger) Norris of Industry, Ill., and one brother Jon W. Helton of San Francisco, Calironia. She has five nephews and four nieces. Preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters and one brother. Services:Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service is being planned at 2:00 pm on Wednesday December 9th at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for the Warren County Special Olympics.
