Patricia P. 'Patty' Sloss

Patricia P. "Patty" Sloss, age 71, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:11 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on July 12, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil Leonard and Nellie Elizabeth (Shepard) Pate. Patty was a graduate of Warren High School. On February 15, 1964, she married Jerry L. Sloss in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2004. Patty worked in Monmouth at Gamble's, Dr. Distin and Doyle Optometrists, and the Red Cross. From 1982-2004, Patty worked with her husband Jerry at Sloss Bookkeeping also in Monmouth. Her love in life was her family, children, and grand-children. Patty is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Dave) Logsdon of Alexis, IL, Tara (Eric) Hanson of Ballwin, MO, one son, Dr. Brian L. (Johanna) Sloss of Stevens Point, WI, six grandchildren; Kylie, Dustin (Chelsea), Paige, Ean, Jonah, Nikolaus, and two great-grandchildren; Devin and Owen. Also surviving are four sisters; Doris (Larry) Dye, Virginia Smith, Shelly (Chuck) Shirey, Terry Pate and one brother; Ronald (Katherine) Pate. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, brother James, sister Sandy, and niece Tammi. Visitation Her family plans to receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 also at the funeral home. Funeral Service A funeral service is planned for 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be at Lenox Union Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
