Patty A Stokes

Patty A. Stokes, age77, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away peacefully at 9:25pm on March 9, 2013 at the Monmouth Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Patty was born September 11, 1935 in Keithsburg, Illinois and is the daughter of Louis and Gertrude Ortery Chenault. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended Monmouth schools and Monmouth High School. Patty was first married to William Christofferson and later married Gerald Stokes. Patty was a bartender at many taverns in Monmouth, for thirty years. She then was a nurses aide for a time at both Pinewood Nursing Home and then the Monmouth Nursing Home. Lastly she worked as a custodial at City Hall until her retirement. Patty loved fishing, country music, spending time and playing games with her family. Patty is survived by two daughters Terri (Jeff) Pearce and Tonya (Bryan) Stuart, both of Monmouth, Illinois. Also two sons, William (Lisa) Christofferson and Tim (Deb) Stokes, both of Monmouth, Illinois. Six grandchildren are surviving, Brook Bolender, Blake and Taylor Stuart, Colten, Emily, and Raelyn Stokes. Also surviving is one great granddaughter Aayvie Adams and two sisters, Shirley Caldwell of Kirkwood, Illinois and Sharon Heatherly, of Monmouth, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her Parents and three brothers Bob, Jack and Tom Chenault. Services:Cremation is being accorded. Her family plans a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday evening March 15th, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Memorial contributions are to St.Jude's Children's Hospitals
