Peggy L. Schisler

Peggy L. Schisler, age 71, of Monmouth, passed away at 9:58 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. She was born on July 10, 1940 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Brownlee Millard. Peggy attended Monmouth High School. Peggy married Salmon L. "Jr." Schisler on October 31, 1993 in Monmouth, he preceded her in death on July 24, 2011. Peggy drove a school bus for Cavanaugh Bus Service in Monmouth for over 10 years. She also worked at various businesses in Monmouth over the years also. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, bird watching, shopping, and a good milk shake. She was an avid animal lover and support of the Humane Society. Peggy is survived by her brother Richard Millard of rural Monmouth, sister Bonnie Bell of East Galesburg, grandson Jamie Tapscott, and nephew Joe Bell (Kathryn) of Monmouth. Also surviving is her special friend Bill Bayne of Roseville, Ill., and her cuddly companions at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers, one sister, and one son. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the funeral home where her family will be present to receive friends. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
