Phyllis M (Martin) Mcmillon

Phyllis M. McMillon, age 88, of 806 South A Street Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 3:25pm on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at her Monmouth residence. Phyllis was born on March 22, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa and is the daughter of Ben Martin Sr. and Rose V. Norville. She was raised in East Moline where she attended local schools and high school. She then attended nurses training in East Moline. Phyllis married Coleman L. McMillon in Oakland, California. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2012. Phyllis began work at the State of Illinois hospital in East Moline, Illinois. She later was employed by Oscar Meyer in the Quad Cities and later and to her retirement worked at Farmland in Monmouth, Illinois. Phyllis enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and being at home. Surviving her is her daughter, Vicki Gassoway of Champlin, Minnesota and her grandchildren, LaSandra Counce and Demond and Phylecia Samuels Hughes both of Champlin, Minnesota. Her grandson survives, Demetrias Martin in East Moline, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents, one son, Adam, her brother Ben Martin Jr, her grandson, Curtis and a great grandson Cordero.
