Phyllis Jean Watson

Phyllis J. Watson, age 89, of Knoxville, Illinois; passed away at the Knox County Nursing Home on August 10, 2011 at 1:07 pm. Phyllis was born August 14, 1921 in and is the daughter of Earl Yoder and Minta V. Smith. Phyllis's natural mother died when she was an infant, following which, she was raised by Joseph and Ella Daugherty Waterman here in the local area and attended local schools. She was first married to Ralph Wenstrom. She later married Earl G. Watson on May 21, 1965 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2003. Phyllis was employed at the former "Hayes Bakery" here in Monmouth where she worked for a number of years. Phyllis was a homemaker in her own home and enjoyed going to the boat. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one Jerry L. Wenstrom Services:A graveside service will be 1:30 pm on Tuesday August 16th at the Monmouth Cemetery followed by interment. No visitation is currently planned. A memorial fund is being established for the Knox County Nursing Home.
