Rae Ann Elliott

Rae Ann Elliott, age 61, of Monmouth, passed away at 3:33 pm on June 17th at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Rae Ann was born on January 1, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois and is the daughter of Waymon Anderson and Mary Ann King Strickland. She was raised in Peoria and Elmwood Schools and attended the Elmwood High School. She was married to Steven F. Elliott on September 24, 1977 in Peoria, Illinois and he is surviving. Rae Ann first worked at the A&W Root Beer Stand in Elmwood and after her marriage was a stay-at-home mom for her family. Upon coming to Monmouth where worked for a time at Western Stoneware and later was a CNA for Western Illinois Home Health Care also in Monmouth. She last worked at Monmouth's Burger King until recent. She attended the Village Baptist Church in Alexis, IL. Surviving Rae Ann is her husband, Steven F. Elliott of Monmouth, Illinois; one daughter, Tina (Steven) Brownlee of Alexis, Illinois; one son Benjamin Elliott of Alexis, Illinois; five grandchildren, and three brothers, John Strickland (Deb) of Monmouth, IL, Waymon Strickland II, of Stronghurst, IL, and Scott Strickland of St.John, Arizona. Also surviving are three nephews and one niece. She is preceded in her death by her parents and one sister. Services:A gathering of her family and friends will be on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois following which cremation will be accorded. A memorial service is planned on Saturday morning June 22 at 10:00 am at the Village Baptist Church in Alexis, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation.
