Ralph  F. Ault Profile Photo

Ralph F. Ault, age 95, entered heaven at 10:25 pm, July 18, 2013, at the Monmouth Nursing Home, where he a lived for the last 18 months. He was born on November 26, 1917 in Newberry, Indiana. After graduating from High School, Ralph saw an ad in the Prairie Farmer about work in Warren County, Illinois He came and met his future bride, Dorothy Schweitzer, from an adjoining farm. They were married for 60 years before she passed away. Ralph was a life-time farmer of both grain and livestock. After a hailstorm in 1942 destroyed the corn crop, he went to work evenings at Western Stoneware and stayed there for 53 years. Ralph was a member of the Sugar Tree Grove United Presbyterian Church, a Freemason, as well as a member of the Royal Arch Masons. He was fond of going to auctions. He especially loved his family and friends. Ralph was known for his kindnesses and how he shared with others. Surviving are his wife, Denise, five children, Wayne (Sue) Ault, Bill (Caroline) Ault, Ruth Ellen (Steve) Shimmin, and Peggy (Al) Kulczewski all of Monmouth, and Neal Ault of Peoria. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Vaughn Gambetta. All who knew him learned what love looks like for Ralph modeled love to all he met. Services:celebration of Ralph's life is planned for 10:30 am, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. His family will be present one hour prior to the service to receive friends. Interment will follow at the Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Jamison Center in Monmouth or Sugar Tree Grove Church.
