Raymond H. Elliott, age 99, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away on Friday December 12th at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Raymond was born on December 12, 1909 in Lenox Township of Warren County on the family farm. He is the son of Everat and Harriett Brooks Elliott. He was raised on the farm and attended rural schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. He was married to Reta Mae Hardesty on September 12, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. Reta preceded him on December 26, 1993. Raymond has been a long time active member of Fairview Center United Methodist Church and has served on many of it's committees. He has farmed the family farm all of his life and has been a livestock producer of cattle and hogs for many years. He was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau, the Roseville Masonic Lodge 519 AF & AM, and Warren Chapter No. 30 Royal Arch Masons. He is a member of the Galesburg Commandry No. 8 and the Illinois Council No 1. Raymond is a member of the Mohammed Temple, the Western Illinois Shrine Club, and the Monmouth Low 12 Club. Raymond was active in the township and county government serving as Lenox Township Supervisor for 36 years and serving on the Warren County Board for 40 years. Raymond also served on the Lenox School board for a time. Raymond also served on the board of Monmouth Mutual County Fire Insurance Company for 43 years and served as it's President and Treasurer. Raymond also began, owned, and operated Monmouth Feed Service for a number of years. Raymond also was active many years with the Warren County Prime Beef Festival and the beef committee. He is a past president and was named the festival parade marshall several years ago. Raymond enjoyed playing cards. His family, farm, and work were his main interests. Raymond is survived by his daughter Shirley M. Bonynge (Mike) of Aledo, Illinois and his son Donald L. (Linda) Elliott of Rockford, Illinois. Seven Grandchildren Five Great Grandchild Brothers Fred Elliott and Ralph Elliott both of Monmouth, Sister Merle Burns of Rockford, Illinois Raymond is preceded in his death by his parents, wife, his son Merlin, 3 brothers,and two sisters Services:A funeral service for Raymond will be on Wednesday December 17th at 11:00 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be for the hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
