Rebecca A. O'Neal, age 63, of Raritan, Illinois passed away at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois on November 16th, 2013 at 12:17 pm. She was born on September 5, 1950 in San Francisco, California and is the daughter of Frank B. and Erma Mae Francis O'Neal. She was raised in California where she attended public school and attended Sunnyvale High School with the class of 1068. She later attended a school of cosmetology and was a licensed beautician for most of her life. Upon returning to the area she became a cook for "The Iowan" Motor Lodge in Ft.Madison, Iowa of five years. She then was employed as cook at the "King's Daughter Retirement Home also in Ft.Madison, Iowa for many years until it closed. She then moved to Illinois to care for her Mother Erma until her death in 2003. Rebecca then worked at Courtyard Estates in Monmouth, Illinois as a " Dietary Aide " for a number of years to the present. Rebecca loved to cook and bake, and loved to fish, and bird watch. Her family and friends were first in every way. Surviving Rebecca is one daughter, Sally-Jo O'Neal of Niota, Illinois and one son, Wade M. O"Neal of Raritan, Illinois. There is one granddaughter, Ermae R. O'Neal. Her sister, Connie Dusek survives of Niota, Illinois and her brother R. Marty O'Neal of Raritan, Illinois. One niece, Kristie Tripp of Ft.Madison, Iowa and two great nieces, Courtney and Chelsea Smith, survive. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael. Services:A funeral service is planned by her family at Turnbull Funeral Home on Thursday November 21st. at 7:30 pm. Her family plans visitation with the family present from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm prior to the service. Cremation will then be accorded. A memorial fund is established for Courtyard Estates of Monmouth, Illinois.
