Richard A. Logsdon, age 66, of Monmouth, passed away at 6:05 a.m., July 4, 2012 at the Heartland Heath Care in Galesburg, Ill. He was born on August 22, 1945 in Monmouth and is the son of Frank and Lucille Piper Logsdon. Richard was reared and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School. He married Vicki Poling on December 14, 1984 in Monmouth, she survives. Richard worked for a time at the Kerr-McGee Service Station in Monmouth. He also enjoyed coaching baseball and softball, playing pitch, and spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his wife, Vicki of Monmouth, two sons; Robert Logsdon of Monmouth, Richie Logsdon of Iowa City, Ia., one grandson Chad Logsdon of Monmouth, one sister Peggy Montroy of Monmouth, one brother Terry Logsdon (Elizabeth) of Alexis, Ill., two sister-in-laws; Helga Logsdon of Madison, Mo., Betty Logsdon of Alexis, Ill., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. His family will be present from 6:00 p.m. till the time of the service to receive friends. Cremation will be accorded following the service. A memorial fund has been established by his family and will be designated at a later date.
