Rita M. Crockett

Rita Marie (nee Richmond) Crockett, 68, of Galesburg, died peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 8:16 p.m.

Rita was born April 16, 1957 in Waco, Texas. Rita married her partner of 20 years, Roger W. Crockett on November 1, 2003 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2005.

Rita is survived one daughter, Candy M. Richmond of Carol Stream, Illinois; three grandchildren, Gianna, Valentino, and Xavier; and one sister, Rhonda Keith of Galesburg. Along with her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.

Rita had a strong faith in God and was a member of Covenant Church in Galesburg. Rita loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita was an animal lover, especially her cats.
