Robert L. 'Bob' Johnson

Robert L. "Bob" Johnson, age 68, of Biggsville, Illinois; passed away at 2:20 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center in Roseville, Illinois. Robert was born on February 3, 1949 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Edwin G. "Swede" and Margaret A. (Borg) Johnson. Bob attended schools in Biggsville and attended Union High School. He began work at I.A.A.P. in Middletown, Iowa and worked there for a number of years. Bob later worked for Biggsville Township and lastly assisted Craig Rima in the care of the Biggsville Township Cemetery for several years. He loved to play softball in Biggsville with the Claybaugh Insurance Team. Bob loved country music and enjoyed listening to Eddie Arnold and Patsy Cline. Bob is survived by his father, Edwin "Swede" Johnson of Biggsville, IL, two brothers; Jerry L. Johnson of Marne, IA and Dale "Ed" (Dori) Johnson of Burlington, IA. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob is preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother. Graveside Funeral Service A graveside funeral service is planned for 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Biggsville Township Cemetery. No visitation or calling hours are planned. A memorial fund is being established the Biggsville Ambulance Service or the Biggsville United Methodist Church.
