Robert V. Cook

Robert V. Cook, age 68, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, on March 28, 2010 at 5:25 pm. Robert was born on November 5, 1941, in Monmouth Illinois to Jesse V. and Mary Orpha [Hood] Cook. Robert was raised in Monmouth by his mother and step father Carl McLaughlin and attended Monmouth High School. Robert married Connie Bates in Monmouth on November 8,1968. He was previously married to Janet Aldridge. Robert worked at Wilson Foods for many years until it closed and then owned Cook's Disposal Service in Monmouth and the surrounding area for many years. He also served on the Warren County Auxillary Police. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and most of all his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his wife Connie Cook of Monmouth, four sons Robert J. Cook, Monmouth, Jonathon [Crystal] Cook, Tony [Leslie] Cook of Monmouth and Brian [Jennifer] Cook also of Monmouth, IL. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sisters Donna [Don] Neal, Galesburg, Wilma Neal, Monmouth, and Carol Hornbaker, Monmouth, one brother Charles [Christine] McLaughlin of Monmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his step father, three sisters Minnie, Margret, and Linda, one brother Albert, an infant daughter, and his father-in-law Charles Bates. Services:Services for Robert Cook will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home from 7 :00 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are for Children's Hospital in Peoria, IL.
