Robert A. Hoskins

Robert A Hoskins, age 83, of Galesburg, Illinois; passed away at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois on December 8, 2012 at 3:25 pm. Robert was born on Ocotber 20, 1929 in Henderson County and is the son of Robert and Maude Pelate Hoskins. Bob was raised in Oquawka and attended Henderson County Schools. Robert is a veteran serving in the Navy prior to the Korean War. Robert married Betty R. Coffman Faulkner on July 6, 1969 in Oquawka, Illinois and she is surviving. Bob began work on the CB&Q railroad as a firmeman. He later was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as an Engineer and worked for forty years to his retirement in 1991. Bob is a member of the Oquawka Masonic Lodge and the B.P.O.Elks lodge. He also is a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Surviving is his wife Betty of Galesburg, Illinois and step daughter Doris J. (Luigi) Spinillo, also of Galesburg, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Debra. Services:Cremation rites have been accorded,and a memorial service is will be on March 16, 2013 at 4:00 pm at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment of his ashes will be in the Oquawka Cemetery later.
