Robert E. Burk, age 37, of Monmouth, passed away on March 3, 2009 at his residence. Robbie was born May 13, 1971 in Monmouth. He is the son of Robert E. Burk and Donna Huff Skiver. Robbie was reared and educated in Monmouth where he graduated from Monmouth High School in 1990. Robbie proudly served in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army he worked at the Henry C. Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg, IL, until his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, U.F.C., and spending time with his dog, Tanner. He was a member of the J.W. Clendenin VFW Post 2301, Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post 136, and the Monmouth Eagles Club 3478. Robbie is survived by his mother, Donna Skiver and Delbert, of Monmouth, and his father Robert Burk and Pat, of Kirkwood, three brothers: David Linze and Kendra, of Brookville, Ohio, Doug Linze and Colleen, of Monmouth, and Tony Bundy and Jenny, of Monmouth, three step-sisters; Tricia Kellogg and David, of Monmouth, Lori Anderson, of Kirkwood, and Roberta Swaim of Iowa, one step-brother; David Schisler and Jacqueline, of Galesburg, and his favorite Aunt Peg. Also survivng are numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by all of his grandparents and two brothers, Roger Burk, and Jeffery Linze. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Turnbull Funeral Home where his family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
