Robert K. "Bob" Snodgrass, 83, of Spring Lake, Michigan and formerly of Kirkwood and Monmouth, died February 19, 2008 in Spring Lake, Michigan. Bob was born in Burlington, Iowa on July 18, 1924, the son of Miles and Irene Schick Snodgrass. He attended Monmouth/Kirkwood schools and graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1943. Bob proudly served his country in the Navy aboard the minesweeper, USS Curlew, as a Motor Machinist. While in the area, Bob was a member of Kirkwood United Presbyterian Church and in Spring Lake was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. Bob married the love of his life, Catherine Holford on April 25, 1948 in Kirkwood, Illinois. Bob, a Master Mason, never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and especially his many friends at Young's lake. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine; three sons: R. Michael ( Linda Shores) Snodgrass of Spring Lake, Michigan; Richard D. ( Karen) Snodgrass, Sr. of Brandon, Florida; and Ronald P. ( Lynne Christiano) Snodgrass, of St. Joseph, Michigan. Grandchildren are Richard D. ( Mary ) Snodgrass, Jr., Amber Snodgrass, Jesse Michmerhuizen and (Melissa) , Katie Snodgrass, Ashley Christiano, and Nicole Christiano. His Great Grandson survives Richard D. Snodgrass, III. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services:A Masonic Service followed by Military Honors will be at 11:00 am on Saturday May 24, 2008 at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois. A celebration of his life by the family will follow at Young's Lake after the services at 11:00 am. A Memorial fund in his memory is being established and may be sent to Young's Lake, P.O. Box 162 Monmouth, Illinois.
