Roger C. Siens

Roger C. Siens, age 78, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 9:45 pm on April 12th, at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo, Illinois. Roger was born on November 7th, 1933 in Hopper, Illinois and is the son of John Clark and Ora Hulet Siens Roger was raised in Henderson County where he attended local rural schools. He was previously married to Erma Jean Pierson, and later married Evelyn Bauer Whitmore on July 3, 1982 in Oquawka, Illinois. Roger began work as a farmer for Charlie McChesney and others in Henderson county, he also later was employed by the Mediapolis, IA, FS Roger enjoyed fishing, woodworking, mushrooming, dancing, and most of all visiting with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Siens of Oquawka, Illinois; six daughters, Jenny (Steve) Larimer of Kirkwood,IL Christine (Randy) Mesecher of Raritan,IL Ora May Siens of Raritan,IL Patricia (Gary) Andrews of Adkisson,IL Connie (John) Spiker of Oquawka,IL and Brenda Whitmore of Oquawka,IL. There are three sons Dale Siens of Raritan,IL Gerald (Gayle) Whitmore of Galesburg,IL and Michael (Kayla) Whitmore of Burlington,IA. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two sisters survive Evelyn Munson of Keithsburg,IL and Pauline Deitrick in California. Preceding Roger in his death are his parents, one son, one daughter, and his brother John. Services:A funeral service will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, IL on Tuesday April 17th at 3:00 pm with cremation to be accorded. Visitation with the family present at Turnbull Funeral Home home will be on Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service.
