Rolland C. Stone

Rolland C. Stone, age 89, formerly of Monmouth, passed away in Franklin Grove, Illinois on March 7th, 2012. Rolland was born December 9, 1922 in Delong, Illinois of Knox County and is the son of Earl S. and Lucille J Callahan Stone. Rolland was raised in the Alexis area and graduated from Alexis High School in the class of 1940. Rolland married Marjorie Ann Hill on May 24, 1946 at Norwood Presbyterian Church. Rolland was a farmer all his life in grain and livestock in the Alexis,IL area. He also was employed at OMC and at Admiral Corp. both in Galesburg, until his retirement in 1983. He is a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth, the Monmouth Masonic Lodge 37 AF & AM., and the Warren County Genealogical Society. Rolland was loved by his family and all of his friends. Surviving is his wife Marjorie Stone of Franklin Grove, Illinois, on son Allen (Rosalie) Stone of Cherry, Illinois, and one daughter Shirley (Charles) Crabtree of Dixon, Illinois. There are nine grandchildren surviving and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Patricia Ann Stone and one son David Eugene Stone. Services:A funeral service will be on Saturday March 10, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, at 2:00 pm Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. No visitation hours are currently planned. A memorial fund is established for First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois.
