Ron was a man who never met a stranger. You were his friend after 5 minutes. He was employed by Chicago Northwestern/Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years and made many lifelong friendships in that time. Ron and Rhonda started their adventure after meeting in a shoe store. It was love at first sight. Their 40 years together, proves that they were meant to be. Ron's greatest joys were his family. Rhonda, his children and his grandchildren all kept him busy and entertained. Ron was a fantastic story teller. He passed that love and talent along to his grandson, Nathan. He loved teasing the grandkids' tutor, Shelley Atkinson, about staggering to the house and tutoring while drunk. His non-working hours consisted of anything with a motor. Ron had a love of flying, fishing, boating and cars. He spent time flying his paraplane, six-wheeling, and after he lost his sight, an electric scooter. Ron was employed forty years, trained as a conductor, first for the Chicago Northwestern and later for the Union Pacific Railroads. He has currently been retired do to his health. Ron loved fishing with his sons and his friends, Alan Pullen and Alan Junior. Ron and his friend, Mike Woods, would spend every night from June to August out frogging. Springtime was spent with his nephew, Preston, out mushroom hunting. He went boating with his friend Thunder frequently. He loved spending time with his brothers and sisters-in-law. Ron was survived by his wife Rhonda L McClintock (Eiler),Mother Martha McClintock Whiteman (Ralph Whiteman) Three Sons Randall (Randy) (Christy Long), Robert (Robby) (Stephanie McClintock), Richard (Ricky), Daughter (Rachel) (John D'Amico) Grandsons Nathan McClintock, Cylar Smith. Granddaughter Nicole McClintock. Brothers Greg McClintock (Irene), Doug McClintock (Karen), Barry McClintock (Teresa), Step Brother Rob Whiteman, Step Sisters Cyndy Ruszkowski, Cheri Whiteman, Laurie Seymour, Sister-in-laws Brenda Mason, Robin Eiler, Marcella Simpson, Michelle Eiler Ron was preceded in death by his Father Robert W McClintock, Brother Robert Turk McClintock, Father and Mother-in-Law Lynn and Shirley Eiler. Good Friend Michael C Woods. Visitation His family plans visitation and will be present on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home. Funeral Service A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Friday September 2, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation will then be accorded.Interment of his ashes will be later in the Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established for Rock Island County Conservation Club or Hospice Compassus of Moline.
