Ronald A. Pinson, age 79, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 9:54 am on Saturday November 3, 2018 at OSF St.Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Ronald was born on July 18, 1939 in Monmouth, and is the son of Byron and Eunice Waller Pinson. Ron was raised in Monmouth where he attended Harding School and Central, then graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1957. He then attended a term at Monmouth College. Ron was active in the Army Reserve unit in Galesburg, Illinois, where he was an E8 Master Sargent. He married June Peterson on January 18, 1964 in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving him. Ronald worked for Puritan Churchill Chemical Company in Galesburg, Illinois for 38 years and finished his career as Plant Manager. He loved doing woodworking and bowling, and begrudgingly enjoyed working on old cars. They were members at Young's Lake and Ron loved to go fishing there and other places in the area. He was loved and was most attentive to his wife and grandchildren. Surviving Ronald is his wife, June of Monmouth, one daughter Ronda Pinson (Vicki) of Monmouth, Illinois and two sons, Leonard Pinson (Rian) of San Diego, California and Jeff Pinson of Kansas City, Missouri. There are three granddaughters, Hannah, Emma, and Sara Pinson and three grandsons, Chris Pinson (Megan), Max and Owen Pinson. He is preceded in his death by his parents and one brother. A funeral service for Ronald A. Pinson will be on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment with military honors will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. His family plans to receive friends at the funeral home with visitation being for the hour prior to the service, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A memorial fund is being established for the Monmouth Lions Club "Little League Baseball Program.
