Ronald G. Ray

Ronald G. Ray, age 59, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at OSF Holy Family Medical Center on October 9, 2010 at 4:32 pm. He was born on June 28, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois and is the son of Gene and Joyce Swanson Ray. Ron was raised and educated in Monmouth where he attended schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. He was married to Debbie Kelso and later divorced. Ron was employed for twelve years at Western Stoneware in Monmouth, IL and then worked for a number years at Farmland Foods also in Monmouth. Ronald was a member of the Grace Bible Church. He enjoyed sports, music, and liked to play cards. Ron liked to spend time with friends and family. Surviving is one daughter Rebecca L. Ray of Monmouth and his son Jeremy A. Ray of Moline, Ill. Also surviving are grandchildren; Thad Gosney Jr., Jazmin Ray, Alaina Ray, and Joy Gosney. Two brothers Robert and Randy Ray both of Monmouth, and two Sisters Peggy (Jerry) Hasten and Penny (Donald) Skees. One half sister Pamela ( Daniel ) Coulter of Galesburg, Ill. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister Pam Ray. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. His family will be present Thursday evening to receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
