Rozetta M. Coons, age 91, of Roseville passed away at 3:24 p.m. July 2, 2010 at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. She was born on December 4, 1918 in Monticello, Mo., the daughter of Jessi C. and Viola F. Bowles Goodwin. She was reared and educated in Cambridge, Il. and graduated from Cambridge High School. She married Edward Lee Coons in 1938, he preceded her in death in September of 2004. Rozetta worked at the Ford Implement Dealership in Roseville and Painter Farm Equipment in Monmouth as a book-keeper and parts person. She owned and operated Mary Rose Open Air Market garden and landscape center for 25 years in Monmouth. Rozetta lived on the family farm, South of Roseville, for more than 60 years. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, visiting with family and friends especially her grandchildren, flying with her husband, and traveling. She also enjoyed going to St. Petersburg, Florida in the winter. She wanted to thank all of her family and friends for the memories. Surviving Rozetta is her son Ron (Marilyn) Coons of Roseville, one grandson Aaron Coons of Morongo Valley, Ca, one granddaughter Raney (Steve) Good of Sugar Grove, Il, step grandchildren Tom (Melissa) Grosbeck of Newport Richey, Fl, Debbie Schultz of Port Richey, Fl, and Sue (Todd) Miller of Fowler, Mi, and six great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Rozetta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers. Services:Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., July 16, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Friends may call an hour prior to the service where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established for the Swan Creek Fire Department or The Sugar Grove Methodist Church in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
