Rudy A. Hunt Jr.

Rudy A. Hunt, Jr. age 43, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away on October 8th, at 12:05 pm as the result of a Pedestrian Train Incident. Rudy was born on January 23, 1965 in Monmouth and is the son of Rudy A. and Shirley Darlene Mettler Hunt, Sr. Rudy was raised and educated in Monmouth, where he attained his G.E.D. equivalent. Rudy entered the United States Army on August 1, 1985 and was a Private, serving in Germany. He was discharged on January 5, 1987. Rudy had a number of employments during his life, and also specialized in Masonry and Brickwork. Rudy also did some farmhand work locally. He faithfully read the Bible and loved spending time with his Nieces and Nephews. Rudy liked to go fishing. Rudy was known by every body and was very helpful in situations where he was needed. Surviving Rudy are his Five Sisters Sherry Sage and Chuck of Monmouth, Illinois; Rudeana Decker and John of Monmouth, Illinois; Mary Ortery and Bill of Madelia, Minnesota; Peggy Fredrickson and Chris of Monmouth, Illinois; and Felicia Mangieri and Paul of Galesburg, Illinois. Three Brothers survive: David J. Hunt of Monmouth, Illinois; James A. Hunt and Kim of Kewanee, Illinois; and Shannon E. Hunt and Crystal of Monmouth, Illinois. There are numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews surviving. Also Rudy's special Cousin Betty Pullen of Monmouth, Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his Parents, Grandparents, and Step Mother. Services:A memorial service is planned on Monday October 13th at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation has been accorded. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Monmouth Cemetery. His family plans to receive friends at the funeral home for an hour prior to the service 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established for mental health.
