Russell "Dean" Redding, age 61, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2009, at his residence. Dean was born on August 4, 1947 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Glen H. and Gertie V. Wells Redding. Dean was reared and educated in the Monmouth area, and attended Monmouth Public Schools. Dean served in the United States Army and was a Spec 4 during Vietnam. He previousley married Barb Hathaway, and later married Mary E. Tatman on November 10, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she survives. Dean first worked at Gale Products in Galesburg, Illinois. He then worked as a mechanic for Munson Trucking for a time, and from 1994 to the present, he drove for the Twomey Company hauling grain and fertilizer. Dean was well known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed the river, cook outs, boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He was a member of the Oquawka Eagles Aerie. Surviving Dean is his wife Mary E. Redding of Gladstone, Ill., three sons; Ron Redding of Charleston, S.C., Dennis Redding of Monmouth, IL. Jim Tatman of Monmouth, two daughters; Teresa Lundy and Joe of Middleburg, Fl., and Nelma Jean Almaguer of Monmouth. Grandchildren; Katelynn Childress of Middleburg, Fl., Julie Jones of Abingdon, Illinois, and Alyssa Almaguer of Monmouth, Chris and Jason Almaguer of Monmouth and Colton Tatman of Galesburg, Illinois. Great Grandchildren; Kamryn, Zachary, and Ayden. Also surviving are two brothers; Robert lee Redding and Peg of Peoria Heights, Ill. and Danny Redding. One sister, Patty Paulsgrove and Robert of Monmouth, and his brother in law Ted Admire, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Admire, and son-in-law, Bob Almaguer. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Interment will be in Oquawka Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka where his family plans to receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.Friday evening. A memorial fund has been established for either the Salvation Army or St. Jude's Children's Hospitals.
