Ruth M. Myers

Ruth M. Myers, age 79, of Brashear, Mo, formerly of Oquawka, Ill., passed away October 1, 2011, unexpectedly at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Mo. She was born on July 28, 1932, in Erie, Ill., the daughter of Lloyd and Florence McConnell. She was reared and educated in Henderson County, where she spent most of her life. She married Roy LaVerne Myers on September 22, 1947, he survives. Together they raised a daughter Barbara Huttenstine (Tony) of Queens City, Mo., sons Roy "Buck" Myers, Jr. (Theresa), and Rick Myers. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Jack Huttenstine (Gleea), T.D. Huttenstine (Melissa), Melissa Pobst, Tabitha Copeland, Julie and John Allen, Amanda and Andy Bruner. Two sisters and two brothers also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister. Ruth retired from Champion Spark Plug Company in 1992. Her biggest enjoyment in life was her family, numerous friends, and gardening. Services:A funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Ill. Friends may call on Thursday at the Funeral Home in Oquawka from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
