Ruth H. "Ruby" Pullen

Ruth H. "Ruby" Pullen, age 81, passed away at 12:40 a.m., April 25, 2009, at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. Ruby was born on July 10, 1927, in Keytsville, Missouri. She is the daughter of Charles T. and Elizabeth RaffertyRogers. Ruby was reared and educated in the Keytsville, Missouri area. She married Lyle R. "Trader" Pullen on August 20, 1944 in Aledo, Illinois, he preceded her on January 25, 2007. Ruby was a Homemaker and she enjoyed raising calves and helping with the animals on the farm. She enjoyed cooking and playing her guitar and harmonica. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Ruby is one daughter, Janice A. Hunter and Wesley of Oquawka, Illinois, one son, Alan R. Pullen and Betty of Monmouth, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are two nieces; Louise Bird and Tom of Alexis, Illinois, and Glenda Lox and Jack of Oquawka. Preceding Ruby in death was her parents, her husband Lyle, one son Robert Dale Pullen, four brothers, and six sisters. Services:A memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the service at noon, where her family will be present to receive friends. Interment of her ashes will be in Reed Cemetery at a later date.
