Salmon L. Schisler

Salmon L. "Jr." Schisler, age 66, of Monmouth, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Ill. He was born on September 14, 1944 in Monmouth, the son of Salmon Lewis and Catherine Jean Sulteen Schisler. Jr was reared and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School. He married Peggy L. Millard on October 31, 1993 in Monmouth, she survives. Jr worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth for 25 years. After he retired he did several roofing and odd jobs around town. He enjoyed junking. Jr is survived by his wife Peggy Schisler of Monmouth, one son David Schisler (Jaqueline) of Galesburg, Ill., grandchildren; Johnathon Schisler, Ashtin Schisler, and Leigha Schisler all of Galesburg. Also surviving are his parents Salmon L. and Catherine J Schisler of Monmouth, two brothers; Jerry Schisler (Lois) of Roseville, Ill., and Jeff Schisler of Monmouth. One sister Vicki Raymond (George) of Monmouth. He was preceded in death by his step son David Tapscott, and his brother Kenneth L. Schisler. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. Jr's family will be present one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Turnbulls to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
