Sandra K. White

Sandra K. White, age 62, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at 10:50 pm at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth on June 29, 2011. She was born on October 21, 1948 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of S Floyd and June E. Dillon Larkins. Sandra was raised educated in Galesburg until her teen years when they moved to Oquawka, Illinois. She was married to Ronald "Herk" White Sr. on September 26, 1964 in Oquawka, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1994. Sandra was first employed at Central Soya in Burlington, Iowa, and later worked in boning at Wilson Foods of Monmouth. She then was employed at IAAP in Middletown, Iowa as an assembler for many years. Sandra loved to crochet and enjoyed crafts of all sorts. She also much enjoyed traveling and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Her family and friends were most important to her. Surviving are two daughters Tammy (Ora) Peel of Roseville, Illinois and Rhonda (Shannon) Crooks of Monmouth, Illinois. Two sons Ronald "Herkie" White Jr. (Theresa) of Biggsville, Illinois and Tim White (Corina) of Oquawka, Illinois. Her long time companion Gary Shaw of Revere, Missouri also is surviving. There are nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Four sisters survive, Ida (Autry) Cauthon of Galesburg, Illinois, Lillian (Garvin) Main of Knoxville, Illinois, Frances Allen of Galesburg, Illinois and Mary Jo (Bill) Carle of New Boston, Illinois. A number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also are surviving. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday July 2nd at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Her family plans to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
