Scot A. Carver, 37, of Monmouth, passed away at his residence on March 16, 2008. He was born on August 1, 1970 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of Thomas and Vaughn Welch Carver. Scot was reared and educated in the Monmouth area attending Monmouth Schools and graduating from Warren School. While at Warren Scot played varsity football. Scot was marred to Michelle Ande. Scot was first and foremost a single father raising three girls. He devoted his soul and spirit to doing his best to take care of them, playing games yet teaching them to be strong. His love of fishing continued his entire life which led to his career at Carver Wholesale Bait and Tackle. He was warehouse manager and had recently taken over purchasing. Scot's hobbies also included being a D.J., doing weddings and various other events. He gave this up to take care of his girls. Scot was a first-class duck caller and hunter and was teaching his girls the sport. Scot belonged to the Warren County Ducks Unlimited, Warren County Sportsmen Club, Honey Creek Gun Club and Monmouth Eagles Aeries. He is survived by three daughters Cheyenne Carver, Kayla Carver and Maggie Jo Carver all of Monmouth, his parents Thomas and Vaughn Carver of Monmouth, one brother Matthew (Brenda) Carver of Galesburg, Illinois, grandmother Mary Welch of Brooklyn, Iowa and one niece and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather, and one uncle. Services:A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, March 19, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A memorial fund is being established for the benefit of his three daughters. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
