Sharol J. Watson, age 69, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 4:56 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Sharol was born on August 23, 1939, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Mildred Cutliff Miller. Sharol was raised and educated in the Monmouth and Moline areas. Sharol married Robert Watson on June 29, 1956 in Monmouth. Sharol worked at various business to include the Woolworth Dime Store, waitressing at the Country Kitchen. She also was employed at Western Stoneware and Wells Pet Food, all in Monmouth and finally the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Iowa. She also was a Home Interiors representative for a time. Sharol was very active in Foursquare Church in Monmouth, serving as a teacher in the Sunday School department for all ages. Sharol was active in the Goldwing Motorcycle Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed going to Strom Center, playing cards and doing bead work. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone. Most of all, Sharol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sharol is survived by her husband, Robert Watson of Monmouth, one daughter Sherry Darlene Watson Scott and Cary of Monmouth, and one son Robert DuWayne Watson and Samantha of South Elgin, Illinois, and six grandchildren Jaclyn Jean Spence and Brayne of Monmouth, Nicolas Allen Johnson and Lindsay Hottell of Corpus Christi, Texas, Opal Pauline Scott of Monmouth, Parker Charles Watson of South Elgin, Rowan Elizabeth Watson of South Elgin and Maxwell James Watson of South Elgin, two great grandchildren Reagan Jean McKenzie Spence and Jackson William Spence both of Monmouth. Also surviving, four brothers; Jerry Miller of California, Roger Miller of Rock Island, Illinois, Bob Clemer of California and Steve Miller and Kay of Colona, Illinois and one sister Barbara Bellivoch of Hawaii and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her dad Paul Miller, one daughter Debra Jane Watson, brother Stanley Miller, brother-in-laws Chet Madson and Wayne Hillman and one nephew, Wayne Donald Hillman. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Sharol's family will be present to receive friends Friday, January 2 at Turnbull's from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund is being established.
