Sharon L. Bishop

Sharon L. Bishop, age 68, of Monmouth, passed away on October 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born on July 27, 1943 in Warren County, Ill., the daughter of Irvine Eugene and Gladys Thomas Sage. She was reared and educated in Warren County and attended Monmouth Public Schools and graduated from Roseville High School. She married Ted W. Bishop on September 27, 1962 in Good Hope, Ill., he preceded her in death on November 29, 2007. Sharon worked at Butler Manufacturing for over 30 years. She enjoyed bingo, the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, horses and collecting dolls. Sharon is survived by her grandson Jason M. Bishop of Monmouth, and two granddaughters; Kayla Bishop and Rachel Bishop both of Monmouth, two brothers; Richard Sage (Linda) of Aledo, Ill., and Alan Sage (Melody) of Sampsel, Mo., four sisters; Donna Becker (Bob) of Monmouth, Nancy Wheeler of Kirkwood, Ill., Cindy Brant of Monmouth, and Linda Sage of Galesburg, Ill.. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Chris Bishop, and her sister Diane Chewning. Services:A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m.. A graveside committal of ashes will be at 2:00 p.m. at Monmouth Cemetery following the gathering at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society specifically for Leukemia.
