Sharon Elizabeth Wiskirchen, 54, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, formerly of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, following a brief and unexpected illness.

Sharon was born June 7, 1971, at the Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan, the daughter of John Wiskirchen and Jackie Hoelscher. She was a member of Oquawka Methodist Church. Sharon was a 1989 graduate of Union High School, and she later went on to Carl Sandburg College as a 2016 alum with a degree in dental hygiene.

Sharon was a fan of watching all sports, but she especially had a love for the St. Louis Cardinals. Her favorite movies were the Harry Potter series, and she was a collector of various kinds of fan memorabilia to honor her love for the films.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother Jackie Hoelscher of Oquawka; her father John (Debbie) Wiskirchen of Branson, Missouri; sister Suzanne (Jeff) Pullen of Oquawka; niece Morgan Campbell of Oquawka; her fiancée Eli Ramirez; and her six fur-baby cats.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ray and Donna Wiskirchen, and Sis and Allen Essex; as well as many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois, with visitation being held one hour prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Family friend Tom Robbins will officiate. Burial will follow in Oquawka Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to The Family of Sharon Wiskirchen in care of Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory to help offset medical and funeral costs.
