Shawn A. Chandler

Shawn A. Chandler, age 47, of rural Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at her rural residence on October 13, 2010 at 10:00 am. Shawn was born on March 17, 1963 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Harry E. and Mary J. Lamb Talley. She was raised and educated in various area schools and attended High School in Rock Island. She married Daniel S. " Boone " Chandler on September 6th, 1998 in the Big River State Forest of Henderson County. Shawn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister to her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and camping; and loved life down on the farm. She loved her life and was always helpful to her friends and family. Surviving Shawn is her husband Danny "Boone" Chandler of Oquawka, Illinois, four daughters Erica and Elizabeth Chandler of Oquawka, and Megan Chandler of Galesburg, IL; and Natasha May of Burlington, Iowa. Three sons Christian (Amber) May of Oneida, IL and currently serving in Afghanistan, Jarrod (Jennifer) Chandler of Galesburg, IL, and Brian Chandler of Galesburg, Illinois. There are five grandchildren, Chandler, Addisyn, Cayden, Callie, and Tori. Shawn's parents survive Harry Talley of Monmouth, IL and Mary Huston of Burlington, IA. She has three sisters surviving, Karen (David) Tweed of Galesburg, IL; Judy Purcell and Merri (Rod) Haight, both of Cedar Rapids, IA and two brothers Wayne (Kim) Talley and Mark (Janelle) Talley, both of Burlington, IA. Also surviving is her step father Dick Huston, and two step brothers; Bryan Huston and Brad Huston. She is preceded in her death by her Grandparents. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Monday October 18, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Oquawka Turnbull Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established for the Henderson County Health Department Hospice.
