Shirley D. Eiler

Shirley D. Eiler, age 76, of Monmouth, Illinois was called to heaven at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Legacy Estates in Monmouth, Illinois. She was born on April 17, 1937 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Finley G. and Maymie (Steele) Miller. Shirley attended schools in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School. She married Lynn R. Eiler on March 30, 1956 in Monmouth and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2003. Shirley worked for a time at Wilson Foods, Monmouth College, and the Maytag Laundry. She was a volunteer at the Monmouth Nursing Home and enjoyed fellowship at the Grace Bible Church. Shirley loved her family dearly. She is survived by five daughters, Rhonda (Ron) McClintock of Colona, Illinois; Brenda (Ed) Mason of Monmouth, Illinois; Robin Eiler of Monmouth, Illinois; Marcella Simpson of Monmouth, Illinois; and Michelle (Nichole) Eiler of Galesburg, Illinois. Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald (Connie) Miller of Monmouth, Illinois and Larry Miller of Kirkwood, Illinois, a sister, Sheila (Terry) Taylor of Monmouth, Illinois, fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Rodney Eiler, and brothers Finley Miller Jr. and Paul Miller. Services:A funeral service will be on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. A visitation will be on Monday with her family being present to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial has been established for either the Battered Women's Shelter in Galesburg, Legacy Estates, or Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
