Susan Enid Taylor

Susan Enid Taylor, age 75, of the Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 4:44 pm on October 21, 2014 at the Emergency Room of Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Susan was born on July 7, 1939 in Burlington Iowa and is the daughter of Floyd William and Mary Jane (Nuss) Thomas. She was reared and educated in the Oquawka area, attending G & O High School. On September 27, 1957, Susan married Roy Eugene Taylor in Oquawka, IL. Roy preceded her in death. Susan was a homemaker and a very active farmer's wife. She was very social person and active in the Democratic Party of Henderson County. Susan is survived by two daughters; Judy Sue (Paul) Brownsfield and Mary Taylor, both of Casa Grande, AZ., one son; Thomas E. Taylor of Los Lunas, NM., eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister; Michelle (Les) VanDolah of Oquawka, IL. Also surviving is her Birthday Sister; Becky Tee of Oquawka, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Mike, and grandson, Jason. Services:A Family Prayer and Balloon release will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the family farm in rural Henderson County. Cremation is being accorded. Her family has established a memorial fund in her name for the Oquawka Fire Department.
