Susan Marie Ogle, 67, of Galesburg, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Susan was born August 18, 1958 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of William Michael and Cecilia Ann (Godsil) Polillo. After graduating from Galesburg High School, Susan went on to earn her BS in Industrial Safety from Illinois State University. She went on to work in the insurance industry for over 45 years as a Loss Control Representative. She retired on April 11, 2025.

Susan married Larry Deane Ogle on November 23, 1985 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. Larry survives of Galesburg; as does her mother, Cecilia Polillo of Galesburg; three stepsons, David (Javannie) Ogle of Seattle, Washington, Deane (Julie) Ogle of Des Moines, Iowa, and Chad (Debbie) Ogle of Edmunds, Washington; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Susan is also survived by five brothers, William (Charlene) Polillo of Rogers, Minnesota, Patrick (Stephanie) Polillo of Blaine, Minnesota, Christopher Polillo of Galesburg, Paul (Kristin) Polillo of Galesburg, and Carl Polillo of Batavia, Illinois; two sisters, Vivian (John) Burke of Brenham, Texas and Joanne (Don) Wilson of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Linda Duarte of Sandy, Oregon; and a brother-in-law, Sean Ogle of Whidbey Island, Washington. Susan is preceded in death by her father, William in 1982 and an infant sister, Christine in 1951.

Susan had an unwavering devotion and commitment to her loved ones. She was a fixture at every family gathering, never missing an event.

Throughout her life, Susan embraced a variety of interests that brought her immense joy. She found great pleasure in traveling with her husband, Larry, exploring new places together and creating cherished memories along the way. Susan was an outdoor enthusiast, relishing the beauty of nature, which she particularly enjoyed during her time living in California and Arizona. Susan also had a keen eye for interior design, where she expressed her creativity and love for beauty in her surroundings. She always looked forward to her shopping trips to Costco.

She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Her strong Catholic faith guided her life, providing her with strength and a sense of purpose. For many years, she served her parish community as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was an avid reader of anything related to her faith or articles related to her work. She also had a great love of angels and maintained a large, ever-growing collection, which she displayed throughout her home and garden.

Visitation for Susan will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg. Father Jeffrey Stirniman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
