Terry E. Meyer

Terry E. Meyer, age 60, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born August 16, 1947, in Monmouth, the daughter of David Eugene and Ellen J. Starkey Myers. Terry was reared and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1965. Terry married Rudy Hunt on October 9, 1971 in Knox County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1998. She later married Dave Meyer. He preceded her in death 2000. Terry enjoyed working with handicap children, sewing, and was a seamstress. She took pleasure in cooking and baking. Terry was also the family hairdresser. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the boat. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her cat, Sammy. Surviving are three sons David J. Hunt of Monmouth, James A. Hunt and Kim of Kewanee, Shannon E. Hunt and Crystal of Monmouth, several step children, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters Marcia L. Jenkins and Baker of Galesburg, Rhonda S. Myers and Chuck Schlichting of Davenport, Iowa, and Mary Ray and Randy of Little York, Illinois, two brothers Rodney D. Myers and Teri of Mediapolis, Iowa and Davie L. Myers and Marcia of Kirkwood, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one sister, one brother one niece and one nephew. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Her family will be present to receive friends at Turnbull's from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, June 16. A memorial fund is being established.
