Terry J. "Tbone" Cox

Terry J. "Tbone" Cox, age 55, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born on August 16, 1955 in Rushville, Illinois, the son of Jack and Gwendolyn Swygard Cox. He was reared and educated in Monmouth. He married Judi L. Tweed on June 28, 2005, she survives. He was previously married to Deborah Roundtree. Terry was a supervisor at United Facilities in Galesburg for 36 years, and was well liked by all who worked with him. He enjoyed singing Karaoke, riding his motorcycle, and liked to play with his dog. Terry was very handy and could fix anything, and was always willing to help others. Terry is survived by his wife Judi Cox of Galesburg, three sons; Jason Cox of Monmouth, Justin Cox of Knoxville, Ill., and Jonathan Cox (Tonya) of Monmouth. He is also survived by three sisters; Betty Roberts of Rushville, Ill., Joyce Petri (Harvey) of Monmouth, and Jackie Brentise (Rolland) of Monmouth. One brother, Jerry Cox (Sharon) of Pekin, Ill., and seven grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother John Cox. Services:A funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. His family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Interment of his ashes will be at a later date in the Rushville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established by his family
