Theresa L. Harris

Theresa L. Harris, age 73, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 5:22 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on November 1, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Glenn and Beulah (Jacobs) Sherwood. Theresa was raised and educated in Canton, MO where she graduated from Canton High School. Theresa married Henry J. Harris and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1992. She was employed at Country Fun in Biggsville, Illinois. She most enjoyed being a "Happy" homemaker and taking care of her family. Theresa enjoyed yard work, gardening, flowers, and the neighborhood cats. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa JoAnn (Dewayne) Weir of Kewanee, IL., three sons; Henry (Julie) Harris of Burlington, IA., Don Harris of Oquawka, IL., and Albert (Sherry) Harris of Ottawa, KS., eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters; Mildred Olson of Kahoka, MO. and Katherine Sherwood of LaBelle, MO, and one brother, Gary Sherwood on Canton, MO. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin brother, and sister. Visitation Her family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Graveside Service A graveside funeral service is planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in the Oquawka Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established and will be named at a later date.
